Job description
We are currently searching for a top-tier Marketing and Revenue Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Conducting oneself in a professional and courteous manner at
all times, including physical and verbal interactions with guests
and fellow shipboard employees, while in crew areas, and/or
in the presence of guests.
• Directing the overall Marketing and Revenue function aboard
the vessel.
• Analyzing marketing programs and associated revenue to
develop or adjust strategies and tactics to increase guest
participation.
• Developing marketing promotion plans to improve or increase
profitability of the revenue areas onboard the vessel and makes
recommendations to implement those plans.
• Working directly with the Cruise Director to identify optimal
scheduling opportunities and locations for special events.
• Planing and conducting informal focus group sessions with guests
and shipboard staff to gather feedback, identify areas for
improvement, and formulating strategies to optimize guest
satisfaction and revenue.
• Meeting regularly with onboard management team to discuss revenue
forecasts, actual performance, and promotional activities.
• Presenting analysis and marketing promotion plans for discussion,
approval, and implementation.
• Working with revenue areas to implement marketing plans and
coordinate cross-marketing efforts.
• Tracking performance of plans, reporting findings to management
team, and makes recommendations for implementing and/or
adjusting plans for future utilization.
• Provideing revenue areas with profitability performance feedback
on a regular basis.
• Providing Hotel Director information for end-of-contract
evaluations of revenue managers.
• Working with the management team to formulate operating
decisions regarding early arrivals, late departures, itinerary
changes, etc.
• Ensuring consistent brand standard image for guest-contact
promotional materials and events, including onboard print,
television/electronic media, direct-to-Stateroom mail, and point of-
purchase displays.
• Creating copy and edits the Cruise Compass to market upcoming
promotions for each department based on their current
inventory and sales.
• Coordinating with the print shop to ensure accurate and on time
delivery of the Cruise Compass.
• Assists in scripting “word of mouth†advertising and activity
announcements to promote revenue areas.
• Remains aware of guest preferences and special occasions (e.g.,
birthdays, honeymoons, anniversaries, etc.) to target these
guests for special promotions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or
related field from an accredited university or college or the
international equivalent preferred.
• Three to five years experience in marketing promotions,
market research, and/or sales analysis events for cruise lines
or amusement/theme parks.
• Knowledge of sales analysis techniques and point of sales (POS)
systems preferred.
• Knowledge of sales in the travel and hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing
personalized customer service including needs assessment,
alternative delivery systems, achievement of quality service
standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques.
• Knowledge of demographic preferences and spending habits
of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Ability to conduct focus group presentations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the
ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees in a
consistent and timely manner.
• Ability to lead management groups in brainstorming.
• Ability to work positively and cooperatively with an international
staff in a diverse team environment.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with department heads, coworkers,
and other shipboard employees to resolve problems
and negotiate resolutions.
• Ability to plan ahead, make timely decisions, and successfully
execute those plans and decisions.
• Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced
environment.
• Working knowledge of computers, the Internet, and the ability
to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel,
Word, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and Page Maker.
